The tunnels leading in and out of Birmingham city centre will be closed for highway maintenance from tomorrow, until 2nd September.
Currently closed between 10pm to 6am, the 40-year-old tunnels at St Chad’s and Queensway, will be shut 24 hours a day.
People who work in the city are being advised to consider alternative driving routes and public transport during this time.
Work will be carried out on the structure of the tunnels, including upgrading fire protection, and improving the lighting.
