Education Secretary on free schools' Ofsted ratings

A Leicester free school is one of 18 free schools rated 'outstanding' or 'good' by Ofsted inspectors.

Krishna Avanti, in Evington, received a 'good' grade, and Education Secretary, Michael Gove MP is pleased so many of the first 24 inspected free schools have been rated so highly.

Too often the best schools are only available to the rich who can afford to go private or pay for an expensive house in the catchment area of a good school.

Free schools are giving all parents, not just the rich, the choice of a high quality school with great teaching and strong discipline.
