Royal Mail workers are set to protest in Nottinghamshire today as part of a campaign to keep the UK postal service in the hands of the taxpayer.
Members of the Communication Workers Union will meet outside Hucknall Post Office in Nottingham from around 10.30am to highlight the threats posed by proposals to privatise the service.
Business Secretary Vince Cable announced plans to sell off up to 90 per cent of the Royal Mail last month, adding:
The time has come for the government to step back from Royal Mail and allow its management to focus wholeheartedly on growing the business and planning for the future.
