Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service say 3ft wide hole on a road in Leicestershire was caused after the road was "eroded by water."
Firefighters were called out just after 3.45pm this afternoon to reports of a hole in Southfield Road in Hinckley.
Police will remain at the scene overnight in the interests of public safety. The road will remain closed during rush hour tomorrow.
