A 49-year-old man from Tamworth, who claimed £88,000 in benefits while he was performing on stage as a drag queen, has been jailed.
Mark Hawthorn, better known as stage performer, ‘Glitterlips’, was sentenced to six months in prison for illegally claiming benefits between November 2003 and March 2012.
On sentencing the man, Judge Michael Challinor said:
You should have confined your acting ability to female impersonation rather than defrauding the state.
