Dave Evans is the father of Daniel Evans, who stormed to victory in the the US Open, beating the 11th seed Kei Nishikori in the first round.
Daniel rang his father at 5:00 this morning - he just said "Yeah, I've played well" before moving on to "general chitchat" but Dave says though that "underneath he's going mad."
