The St. Chad's and Queensway tunnels in Birmingham city centre have reopened.
They have been closed for the past six weeks for maintenance work and the closure was timed to fit in with the long school holidays.
Structural changes were needed to bring the tunnels up to EU safety standards, but engineers also took the chance to make some cosmetic alterations which were enthusiastically received by the first few drivers to pass through this morning.
