The family of an eight-year-old Birmingham girl who died while on holiday in India have revealed they are to order DNA tests to ensure the organs repatriated today are actually hers.
Gurkiren Kaur Loyal went to a clinic in the Punjab suffering from dehydration, where she died - and when her body was returned to the UK, it was discovered her organs had been removed.
Doctors in India have now returned organs to the UK - but her mother told ITV News Central they will be getting a DNA test to ensure they really belong to her daughter.
She described the pain of losing the child as "totally numbing".
