West Mercia police are continuing their hunt for convicted murderer Alan John Giles who absconded from an open section at HMP Hewell on Monday.
At a press conference this afternoon the police appealed to the public to contact them with any details that can help their investigation.
They went on to warn people that the prisoner may present a danger to the public and that they should not approach the man if they spot him.
We can't underestimate the fact that he was arrested and convicted for kidnap and murder in 1995... We don't know what his intentions are.
Regarding their on-going investigations the police stated:
What we don't know for 100% at this time is why he absconded from HMP Hewell on Monday.
