A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft in connection with a break-in at the family home of Nottingham's Olympic athlete Andy Turner.

The sprint hurdler was left "devastated" after burglars broke into the house in Hucknall while he attended the funeral of his mother, Yvonne.

Nottinghamshire Police said a 21-year-old man from the Nottingham area was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of burglary and theft and released on police bail, pending further inquiries.

Tweeting from his personal account, andyturner110h, on November 7, Turner said: "Please help, my mum's funeral today, whilst at the function, we were burgled and everything was stolen including my car, laptop, phone plus loads of other stuff."
