50-year old keeper drafted in for Mansfield clash

50-year-old goalkeeping coach, Kevin Poole, is to be named in the Burton Albion squad for their League 2 match with Mansfield tonight.

As the oldest registered player in the football league, Poole's last first-team appearance came three years ago in a defeat to Rotherham.

But the former Derby County and Leicester City player, could be swapping the touchline for the goal-line and will be on the bench after on-loan keeper, Jordan Pickford, was recalled by Sunderland.

It will be the second time this season he has been named a substitute, after providing cover for the game against Wycombe Wanderers in October earlier this year.
