Detectives identify Stafford Hospital cases needing review

Detectives investigating alleged neglect at Stafford Hospital have completed their initial review of source material relating to deaths at the hospital between 2005 and 2009.

In total, 209 cases have been identified as needing a more detailed review and 36 have already been examined by a joint team from Staffordshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive.

The police say they are now investigating whether any criminal offences have been committed in relation to the 209 deaths.
