A woman has been charged after a pensioner and his two small Yorkies were savaged in an attack in Sandwell.
The 72-year-old was walking his two Yorkshire terriers along Field Road, Tipton, at around 4pm on December 4 when they were set upon by two dogs.
He suffered cuts to his hands, while one of his pets had to be put down due to internal bleeding. The other dog is recovering from multiple bite wounds.
Mariana Stewart, aged 19, of Field Road, was charged with possessing a fighting dog an allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control. She has been granted police bail to appear at Sandwell Magistrates Court on December 23.
