Library of Birmingham voted building of the year

The Library of Birmingham has been voted building of the year by readers of the Architects' Journal.

The £188 million library opened in September and recently welcomed its one millionth visitor.

The 10-storey building was designed by Dutch architecture practice Mecanoo.
