The Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin, will be visiting the site for the planned Ilkeston railway station today. He will be looking over plans with Jessica Lee MP. Plans for the station are expected to be given approval by councillors at a meeting later today.
McLoughlin, MP for Derbyshire Dales, is also visiting the A453 to see how work is going. The road, which links Nottingham with the M1 and East Midlands Airport, is being widened.
