A fairground ride operator has pleaded guilty to breaking health and safety laws after two teenagers were thrown into the air while on a ride at the Billy Bates Fair in Leicester.

The moment two teenage boys were catapulted off a fairground ride was caught on camera by a passer-by, who then rushed to their aid.

The operator of the ride, which was at the Billy Bates Fair in Leicester's Abbey Park in July 2012, today pleaded guilty to breaching health and safety rules.

Operator William Roberts, of Atherton, Manchester, is expected to be sentenced this afternoon.
