Madeleine search: Police working in 'vast area'

ITV News Central reporter Gareth Owen says the wasteland cordoned off by police in Praia da Luz is a 'vast area'.

Officers are carrying out searches as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann from Rothley in Leicestershire.

It is expected officers from the Metropolitan Police will join their Portuguese colleagues at the scene later today.
