A cyclist who died after being hit by a passing vehicle in Shropshire has today been named as 61-year-old Michael John Saunders.
Mr Saunders, from the Bayston Hill area of Shrewsbury, was found dead at the side of the A49 Hereford Road between Leebotwood and Dorrington in the early hours of Monday morning.
He had been cycling home from his workplace in Church Stretton. The road was closed between the junction of the A5 and Sandford Avenue in Church Stretton for several hours after his body was spotted by a tractor driver.
Police have managed to track down a lorry which they believe was involved in the crash. The driver, a 39-year-old man from South Wales, is now being interviewed by police.
