Homemade fireworks were behind a bomb scare which closed down a Derbyshire street and forced 200 people to evacuate their homes, it has emerged.
A highly dangerous substance was found in a flat in Newhall by officers responding to calls from neighbours.
Seven controlled explosions were carried out by bomb disposal teams - one of which was performed a mile away from the scene for safety reasons.
