Birmingham's bid to host the 2022 commonwealth games is to bring new facilities to the region it's been announced today.

A new-build Aquatics Centre in Sandwell would host Swimming, Para Swimming and Diving if the second cities bid is a success, with plans that it could accommodate space for up to four thousand spectators.

Other proposals also include plans for the Ricoh Arena to host netball and for Villa Park to become the temporary home of the super-speed Rugby 7s.
