Children as young as five have been referred to a treatment centre in Peterborough which looks after young sexual abusers.
Claire McGlasson's ITV report highlighted that, in many cases, the young abusers have also been victims themselves.
- According to the NSPCC one third of children who are sexually abused are abused by other children.
- Police figures show that reported cases rose 71 per cent from 4603 (in 2013/14) to 7866 (in 2016/17).
- Including 225 reports of rapes on school premises in that four year period.
The NSPCC's Turn the Page service has been specifically set up to treat children who sexually abuse other young people.
