Businesses in Jersey will not be charged to dispose of their liquid waste until January 2019.
A delay to the introduction of new charges has been announced in the States this morning.
It follows criticism from the hospitality sector, which claimed the additional expense could put some firms out of business.
The controversial proposals would see large hotels charged £40,000 a year for their liquid waste disposal.
Politicians voted to move onto the next item on the agenda before voting on the proposals.
