An application to build 83 new homes in St Sampson’s at Pointues Rocques has been submitted to Guernsey’s Development and Planning Authority.
The application has been submitted by Robert Plumley, Messrs Gabriels, Asparagus Tips Too Ltd and the Guernsey Housing Association.
The development, if granted planning permission, would likely consist of 50 flats, 20 houses and 13 affordable houses.
Plans to develop the site have already faced strong opposition from neighbours, after the site was designated as a conservation zone last year under the new Island Development Plan. Many residents nearby say the influx of new houses will cause the roads around the site to be overloaded.
