A parish representative in St Sampson's is questioning high levels of development in the north of Guernsey.
Douzenier, Rob Gill, believes plans to build 83 homes at Pointues Rocques could see local infrastructure overloaded.
He believes development in the south should be considered.
The development, if granted planning permission, would likely consist of 50 flats, 20 houses and 13 affordable houses.
Plans to develop the site have already faced strong opposition from neighbours, after the site was designated as a conservation zone last year under the new Island Development Plan.
Many residents nearby say the influx of new houses will cause the roads around the site to be overloaded.
