Super League Triathlon: What you need to know

Some of the world's best athletes will be racing in St Helier this weekend as the Super League Triathlon comes to Jersey. Here's everything you need to know.

WHO?

The triathlon will see the top 40 male and female triathletes, including 25 Olympians from around the world, take on the challenge in a bid to win prize money.

WHERE?

It will take place in Jersey's Elizabeth Marina. Spectators can watch at various spots including the grass outside Castle Quay where a big TV screen will show the action live. Viewers can also watch from the Pier adjacent to Elizabeth Marina.

Food, entertainment and merchandise will be available.

WHEN?

Saturday 23 - 'Triple Mix': This event tests versatility and adaptability. Athletes complete three stages of all three disciplines with a ten-minute break between stages.

  • 09:00 - Corporate relay start
  • 11:00 - End of race
  • 13:00 - Men's race begins
  • 16:00 - Women's race begins

Sunday 24 - 'Eliminator': This is a round of survival of the fittest. It comprises three stages with a 10-minute break between each stage, which commences when the winner of the preceding round crosses the finish line.

  • 09:00 - Corporate relay start
  • 11:00 - End of race
  • 13:00 - Men's race begins
  • 16:00 - Women's race begins
