Petition to save L'Ancresse sea wall handed to States

A petition to save Guernsey's L'Ancresse sea wall has been handed into the States by protesters this morning.

A section of the WW2 anti-tank wall is set to be taken down, after the Environment Committee said it was too costly to repair.

But some islanders are concerned about flooding, and say the wall has historic value.

The situation as far as the tenant is concerned and what will interest them is how the States vote with regards to the preservation of the kiosk, and within our policy letter we have an option that does just that.

The bigger question for that states is just how much do you spend on a facility that’s quite vulnerable with the walls still remaining there.
