Islanders are being encouraged to have their say on benefits in Jersey.

The Social Security department has started the second part of a three year review into the current scheme.

It is particularly keen on feedback regarding benefits that new parents can claim or benefits claimed following the death of a partner.

The department are also planning to change existing maternity benefits so that they can be claimed by either parent.

The Social Security team says it needs to adapt the current system to sustain an ageing population.

This survey focuses on parental and bereavement benefits, we are keen to hear from as many people as possible. Any changes we make to the Social Security contributory benefit scheme will affect all Islanders so I would encourage everyone to participate.
