One in ten people in Guernsey are living in houses described as 'overcrowded', a new report on poverty has revealed.

The government findings also show around a tenth of the island live in 'affordable' homes, rented from the States or the Guernsey Housing Association.

The Guernsey Indicators of Poverty Report is the second phase of a study looking at the risk of social and economic deprivation.

It also shows 14% of 18 to 20 year-olds are not in employment, education or training.
