Jersey Hospice Care will extend its services to care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses.
The charity hopes to have built a brand new purpose-built children's wing by 2020.
The plans include:
- 3 en-suite rooms for children
- 2 transitional bedrooms for young adults
- 3 family suites
- Bereavement suite
- Shared space for music, play and recreation
- Separate space for teens and young adults
- Sensory room
- Outside play area
Hospice have already started offering emotional support and day care services to younger patients and their families.
There are currently 44 children in Jersey living with a life-threatening or life shortening condition.
