Islanders in Guernsey are being encouraged to give a tree as a Christmas present this year to help the environment.

Colin Dodd from Guernsey Trees for Life is encouraging the idea after the amount of trees lost due to storms, age and disease.

The charity has teamed up with Guernsey Gardens, who are giving a 15% discount on tree purchases when ‘Guernsey Trees for life’ is mentioned before Christmas.

Giving a tree is a special, memorable, living gift which also strengthens Guernsey's biodiversity.

It is vitally important that we continue the life cycle of planting and continue to replace aged, damaged or diseased specimens.
