Alderney's Bird Observatory has received official accreditation from a UK governing body.
The centre have been working for two years for the accreditation and could see a surge in visiting wildlife fans as a result.
The Bird Observatory is based at the island's Nunnery where figures have been recorded for the past two years.
The Nunnery is currently undergoing a £235,000 renovation which will see the roof replaced and creation of three flats.
Members of the Alderney Bird Committee hope the accreditation will bring more visitors to the island.
