Two islanders have been presented honours by the Duke of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace.

Derek Webb, President of Guernsey's Table Tennis Association for 19 years, was awarded an MBE for his commitment to the sport.

His services saw Guernsey's table tennis team pick up 6 medals at the Natwest Island Games last year.

Jerseyman Philip Gower was awarded an OBE for support to vulnerable children and young people on the island.

His foundation, the Philip Gower Charitable Trust, have made donations to the NSPCC, Barnardos and the Grace Trust.
