A new initiative is being launched in Jersey to help islanders who are in financial difficulty.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is already established in the UK but is now being launched as a local company in Jersey.

The charitable organization say a recent States of Jersey survey highlighted the significant financial pressure on islanders, with 28% saying their financial situation had worsened since 2016.

CAP will offer 'Money Coaches' and courses to help individuals budget their income and expenditure.

The support for this initiative has been stunning, with the island now having 30 Money Coaches fully trained to run courses in the island.

There are seven local churches who have signed up to become members of this local charity and trained money coaches come from twelve different churches around the island.
