Hit and run leaves woman in intensive care

A 60-year-old woman is in intensive care with serious injuries after a hit-and-run in St Helier last night (Wednesday).

A white van is alleged to have run the woman over after exiting Norfolk Terrace, next to Raleigh Avenue, before driving off at around 6:45pm.

Police say the van failed to stop and continued towards Midvale Road.

The woman was left lying in the road.

She has a number of fractures to her upper body and remains in the hospital being treated.

Officers investigating want any islander who saw the incident to get in touch.

Anyone who witnessed the accident and has not yet done so is asked to contact the police.

In addition anyone who was in the area of Rouge Bouillon at the time of the collision and who may have dash cam or helmet cam footage is also asked to get in contact on 01534 612612 or via social media.
