Rugby player Danny Cipriani fined £2,250 after assaulting a bouncer and police officer at Jersey nightclub

International rugby star Danny Cipriani has been fined a total of £2,250 after admitting assaults on a bouncer and a police officer at a St Helier nightclub.

He will pay £1,500 for resisting arrest, £500 for assault on a doorman and £250 in compensation for bruising a female officer.

Cipriani was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning and was later charged with assaulting police during an incident at the Royal Yacht nightclub.

The 30-year-old fly-half was on the island with his club Gloucester for a training camp with Jersey Reds.
