Alderney celebrates Pride for the first time

Over 60 people in Alderney took part in the island's first ever Pride parade on Sunday.

Pride is a celebration the LGBTQ community and promotes inclusivity and equality for all.

It followed the Channel Island Pride event held Guernsey which saw a turnout of around 4,000 people.

The sea of rainbow flags and balloons were accompanied by singing and a 'mobile disco' as marchers made their way from Butes Field and through St Anne.
