A new report by Guernsey's government has warned that more than 200 families who receive benefits on the island face 'intolerable levels of poverty'.

To address the issue, Social Security has suggested increasing the income support cap to £750 per week.

The current cap is £670 per week.

But the charity, Community Foundation says there should no longer be a cap on the amount of income support a household receives.
