Charity, Breast Cancer Care promotes the Breast Awareness Five Point Code which is:
- 1. Know what is normal for you
- 2. Look and feel
- 3. Know what changes to look for
- 4. Report any changes to your doctor
- 5. Attend screening when you are invited.
New staff at the Guernsey Breast Unit are continuing to promote the breast awareness message following Breast Awareness month in October.
Guernsey had an average of 48 new cases of breast cancer detected each year between 2009 and 2011.
The Breast Screening Programme invites all women from the age of 50 years to attend for screening every two years.
