Church on the verge of re-opening after a decade is broken into

Police are appealing for witnesses after the Evangelic Church on Halkett Place, St Helier was broken into.

The break and entry happened between the hours of 6pm on Saturday 7th February and 4pm on Sunday 8th February.

The break-in resulted in damage to the stage equipment within the church and disruption caused to subsequent services.

The church was due to be officially re-opened at the end of this month after a decade with its doors closed.

Members of the Christian Portuguese Mission have worked tirelessly to bring the place of worship back up to scratch, renovating the old Victorian church around their full time jobs .
