Alderney licenced betting site suspended

An online betting firm licenced in Alderney has been told by the British Gambling Commission to pay outstanding winnings.

Metroplay, which also runs 666bet.com, has had its license suspended by the Alderney Gambling Commission following the arrest of one of their key directors.

The Commission says the suspension is a precautionary measure and will remain in place whilst a review into the company takes place.

The Commission has decided to commence a review because it suspects that Metro Play Limited (the Licensee) is unsuitable to carry on the licenced activities (section 120(1)(d) of the Act) and considers it appropriate to suspend the licence with immediate effect pending the conclusion of the review.

The company's website says it 'anticipates customers being able to gain access to their accounts by Friday 24th April'.
