Phil Austin: we owe it to Island Games to go to Gotland

Jersey FA President, Phil Austin, has told ITV News they owe it to the integrity of the NatWest Island Games to send a strong men's and women's team to Gotland.

The sport's commitment to next summer's competition was outlined at a meeting last night, with the JFA set to stump up £6,000 towards the cost of sending two squads to the Swedish island.

That will mean the players have to raise about £1,000 each themselves with various fundraising initiatives earmarked.

Although the meeting in St Helier was well attended by the women, just three male players turned up.
