Prince Edward visits the Channel Islands

The Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, is making a royal visit to the Channel Islands to meet young people doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award. His Royal Highness is a trustee of the scheme and hold a Gold Award himself. He'll be visiting Guernsey, Alderney and Jersey during his trip.

Prince Edward meets young islanders at Crabbe

Prince Edward has been meeting young islanders doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award at Crabbe Activity Centre this morning.

One scout told ITV News about the 'nerve wracking but really good' experience of showing the Earl of Wessex first aid and CPR skills they have learnt.

The Deputy Island Commissioner of Scouts, Beverly Colley, described the 'honour' for the youngsters to meet His Royal Highness.

The Prince is a trustee of the scheme and presents the Gold Award to those who qualify.
