Prince Andrew is visiting Guernsey and Alderney today.
His Royal Highness is starting his visit in Alderney and will visit the Maritime Trust to inspect three cannon and other artefacts recovered from the Alderney Elizabethan Wreck - a wreck found in 1977 by an island fisherman.
The Duke of York is Patron of the Alderney Maritime Trust and will meet meet trustees and divers from the team of volunteers that recovered the items.
He will also meet with States members, local school children, and members of the Alderney Lifeboat crew and will view a tapestry created by islanders. The replica of The Alderney Bayeux Tapestry Finale, features the crowning of King William I in Westminster Abbey.
This afternoon he will head to Guernsey to meet Sea Cadets at Castle Cornet, as Admiral of the Sea Cadets Corps.
