Jersey Met Office issued an Orange Gale warning in the early hours of this morning.
We've been experiencing gale force winds of up to 50mph.
The States of Jersey Fire Service say they were called to a number of incidents involving unsecured marquees and gazebos that had blown over and were a hazard to the public.
A number of trees also came down in the night but these were dealt with by the Department of Infrastructure.
There is a lot of debris on the roads this morning, so islanders are being asked to stay vigilant and take care.
With these high winds forecast to continue through today, the Fire and Rescue Service recommends islanders check their properties and secure anything that is likely be affected by the strong winds.
