The party seized three seats from the Conservatives and one from the Lib Dems.

In Preston, Labour gained three seats to make 31 overall putting them ahead of the Conservatives who hold 19. Lib Dems now hold 5 seats.
West Lancashire remains under the control of the Conservatives, who managed to hang on to 28 seats, but Labour closed the gap by gaining 5 seats, bringing their total to 26.
Counts for Burnley, Hyndburn, Blackburn, Pendle and Rossendale are still to take place -they are scheduled to happen later today.
