Sir Alex Ferguson introduces two new signings
by Caron Bell
Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken of his hope for the future as he introduced two new United players to the world's media this lunchtime: Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund and Nick Powell from Crewe Alexandra.
Kagawa was a great player, Sir Alex said, one the club had had its eye on for some time. He said the 23-year-old, originally from Japan, could play in the first game of the season and would have an immediate impact on United's performance.
By contrast, he plans to introduce 18-year-old Nick Powell gradually, though the teenager will train with the club every day.
Sir Alex was also asked about his feelings at the end of the last season, when Manchester United lost out to Manchester City in the Premier League title race: 'Plenty of red wine helps', he said.
