Shooting accused in court

A man's due to appear in court today accused of murdering his parents.

Officers were called to Clough Avenue in Sale last Friday. Police found the bodies of Bob Seddon, 68, and his wife Patricia, 65.

Their son Nic Seddon , 45, was arrested the following day at his home in Seaham, County Durham.

Greater Manchester Police said it was conducting a "dynamic, fast-paced investigation" into the double shooting.

Four months ago Mr and Mrs Seddon managed to escape death when a car driven by their son plunged into Bridgewater Canal in Timperley.

Father-of-three Nic Seddon said he smashed his window to escape himself and then helped pull his

16-year-old nephew to safety before going back got his father.

Fire crews rescued them both, then saved the life of Mrs Seddon.

Nic Seddon will appear before Manchester Magistrates later today.
