Silent protests over army cutbacks

A mother whose son was killed in Afghanistan says she feels betrayed by plans to close his regiment. Ann Annis joined serving members of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in a protest at the Cenotaph in Manchester.

More than 600 soldiers in the 2nd Battalion of the Fusiliers could lose their jobs, in plans to reduce the British army by 20 - thousand. Their families have called on the Ministry of Defence to think again.
