Seventy thousand tickets sold for first Olympic event in North West

Seventy thousand tickets have been sold for the first Olympic event in the North West.

Team GB take on Senegal in the men's football event at Old Trafford later today.

It's the first of nine games to be held at the ground.

London 2012 organisers are not providing spectator parking at Old Trafford, except for a limited number of pre-booked Blue Badge spaces.

Olympic ticket-holders can travel free on Metrolink trams between stops in Manchester city centre and stops near to Old Trafford Stadium .
