Blackpool will be celebrating 100 years of its world famous Illuminations this autumn.

And some of the new installations went on show today.

As well as graffiti-inspired displays, there'll be some extra input from the likes of Dora the Explorer and Spongebob.

2012 will also see the return of the well-loved Rocket Tram as the centerpiece of the traffic island at Gynn Square with a huge astronaut from 1970 floating above it.

A corridor of lights will lead pedestrian visitors from the Promenade to enjoy the brilliant Brilliance sound and light show on Birley Street.

A giant interactive sign, designed by nine young people working alongside artist Laurence Payout, will suggest actions and movements for its audience outside North Pier

And once again the man behind it all is Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
